Read the Directions

Have you ever bought something without reading the directions? I remember doing this when I was suffering from allergies. I squirted some of the medicine in my nose, and it ran down my throat. It was not pleasant. So I read the directions. Ah. First, tilt your head to the side and watch what happens. It worked most amazingly.

So, it’s crucial to read the directions of the Creator to understand how to live honorably and peacefully in this world. His Word has the power to transform our minds and hearts. It purges the world from us, and we start to perceive, think, and behave like the Son of God. We come to know that God is always by our side, guiding us.

That is why Shadrach, Mescheck, and Abednego were free to walk into the blazing furnace in the first reading. They were not afraid to profess their faith in God regardless of what happened. One who looked like the Son of God was with them—the same Son of God who is with us.

Gospel Challenge:

Freedom is the strength to let Jesus bestow His blessings right in the midst of our trials. When fear grips us, He grants us the courage to do what’s right. When life seems bleak, Jesus provides us with guidance when we seek it. When anxiety about the future overwhelms us, He offers us peace through our trust in His providential care. Surrender everything to Jesus. Try it. Your heart will be filled with joy and peace, knowing He is always with you. 

Our Lord already knows our lives in all their fullness. He is waiting for us to decide if that is what we want.
